SSP© Level I (age 8-17) Speed Strength Power
The Level I program is for any competitive athlete new to strength and conditioning, but looking to improve personal performance, and achieve a competitive advantage in their sport(s). Youth and teen athletes should start in the SSP Level I program, until they have built a foundation of strength and knowledge, qualifying for the elite SSP Level II program.
SSP Level I introduces each athlete to the fundamentals of proper running mechanics and utilizes jump training and explosive movements to increase acceleration. The program ensures each athlete receives endurance, lean mass building, and basic strength work to build the foundation for more intense overloads and power movements. SSP Level I ends with intensive conditioning drills, mostly competition based, promoting the importance of mental toughness, and self and peer improvement.
